Below is the history of EMI.

Forty-five years ago, Dr. Ronald Karl, a highly experienced emergency medical care specialist, often witnessed the
intensity and complexity of public safety professionals’ jobs. Dr. Karl had a strong desire to support and serve these
courageous men and women, which led him to create the company he named EMI-Emergency Medical International.
Dr. Karl has served as EMI’s President and CEO since the company’s inception. His vision, focus, and determination
nave led our company and its employees toward success by partnenng with a worlowide network of
distributors who promote EMI’s innovative products to EMS, Fire, and Police professionals.
In 2022 EMI celebrates our 45th anniversary. When looking back, EMI began small with a few selected products and
grew to become an industry leader over the years. EMI now offers over 300 diverse EMS, Fire, and Police products,
including our exclusive 911 and 511 rescue tools. In conjunction with our 45th anniversary, we have
introduced our new Emergency Tactical Response (E.T.R.) product line.
Thanks to tremendous company growth, EMI extensively expanded our offices and warehouse several years ago. We
doubled our personnel to provide customers and our distributor network better and more efficient service.
We will always thank our global network distributors and customers for their dedication and support.
EMI will continue to meet the demands and needs or tomorrows first Responders.
